UNICEF in Serbia and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia have begun preparations for the implementation of the seventh cycle of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS). The seventh cycle of MICS in Serbia, including field implementation, will be conducted during 2025.
In April 2025, the number of 2 316 building permits was issued, presenting the decrease of 14.9% when compared to April 2024. Out of the total number of permits issued in April 2025, 84.5% related to buildings, and 15.5% to civil engineering constructions. When only buildings are concerned, 82.3% of permits related to residential buildings, and 17.7% to non–residential ones, while regarding civil engineering constructions the largest number related to pipelines, communication and electric power lines (70.0%).
The total value of works that contractors from the Republic of Serbia performed abroad in 2024 amounted to 21 589 million RSD. The largest construction activity, observed by countries, was noted in the Russian Federation, 21.7% of the total value of works performed, then in the Netherlands, 21.4%, Germany, 16.2%, Montenegro, 13.7%, and in Uganda, 9.1%.
Prices of goods and services used for personal consumption in May 2025 in relation to April 2025 increased by 0.2% on average.
Producer prices of agricultural and fishing products in April 2025, compared to the same month of 2024 were increased by 5.2% average.
The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, with financial assistance from the European Union, is implementing the EU4SORS project - Development of Modern Statistical System, with Special Focus on Decision Making Support System at Local Level (DMSS LL).
Branko Josipović, Acting Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, participated in the session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for GDP Growth, which was held today at the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
Based on statistical and other current indicators, the Council analyzes the results of all branches of the economy every month and continuously works on measures that affect GDP growth.
The total number of passenger road motor vehicles that entered the Republic of Serbia in the first quarter 2025 increased by 3.9%, compared to the same period of the previous year. The number of vehicles registered in our country increased by 6.1%, while the number of vehicles registered abroad increased by 2.0%. Among foreign vehicles, the largest number was registered in Germany, 6.2%, Austria, 4.2%, and Hungary, 3.7%.
